About the author
I am an writer with an interest in the intersection of culture and finance, focusing on apparel, retail, and brand-driven businesses. I started this blog after a couple of dinner conversations with my partner who is a public equities investor. When my partner researches consumer companies, I am informally consulted on "what's cool" or "up-and-coming" brands and I realized that there was a gap between what buyside finance guys know and what intuitively women shop for.
My background is in business: I graduated from business school and started my career in investment banking. After working there briefly, I ultimately decided to pursue a role in marketing. From there I've spent nearly a decade in various brand marketing and strategy & ops roles. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of how companies turn consumer insight into actionable business strategies.
My hope is that this passion project can provide detailed and thoughtful analysis for the investor looking for a unique point of view.
